Based in Northern Virginia, we first met working at a restaurant - Jamie as a chef and Alejandra as front of the house - and 5 years later, here we are on this journey. You’ll find that what inspires us are meals that create experiences and embrace seasonal and local products. All of our favorite and special moments together have one thing in common - food.
Off The Line is a food blog and a Virginia private events service we started in early 2021. It was born when Jamie stepped out of the restaurant industry and Alejandra was looking for a creative outlet.
On the blog you'll find restaurant caliber recipes, anything from chocolate ganache cakes to tomato risotto. Our recipes are all inspired by our experiences, family and our everyday lives. Our hope is that by cooking our recipes and eating our food, you’ll be able to create special moments and memories that inspire you.
Hey! I'm Alejandra but you can call me Ale. I'm co-founder of Off The Line and do everything content creation, our photography and help Jamie make the recipes. Some of my favorite things include a nice glass for pinot noir, snuggling with our kitten Kai and watching all of the rom-coms. I was born in El Salvador and love visiting my family there and going to the beach.
Hey there! I'm Jamie, the other half of Off The Line. I'm Vermont born but raised in Virginia. I've been a chef for 15+ years working at restaurants including The Inn at Little Washington and Market Table Bistro. My passion for cooking began from watching the Food Network and trying to replicate what I saw. I love to travel and experience different cultures and foods.
